Use Case

Net-new prospects, prioritised by evidence, not guesswork.

Most prospecting starts with a list: companies matching a set of firmographic filters, handed to sales with no sense of order. Growth Assist starts from the same ICP definition but does not stop there.

We continuously identify companies that fit your criteria and layer on verified evidence and inferred timing, so sales knows which accounts on the list are worth calling this week rather than working the list alphabetically.

The problem

What usually gets in the way.

Defining an ideal customer profile is the easy part. The hard part is turning a list of a few hundred or a few thousand matching companies into something a salesperson can actually work through in a day. Most teams end up cold-calling in list order, or relying on whoever picked up the phone last, because there is no way to tell which companies are more likely to engage right now.

The result is wasted effort on companies that fit the profile but have no reason to talk today, while genuinely live opportunities sit further down the list, untouched for weeks.

Growth Assist changes the starting point. Instead of "here is a list of companies", sales receives "here are the companies worth looking at now" — the same ICP, re-ordered and justified by evidence.

  • ICP lists are large, generic, and not ranked by anything meaningful
  • No visibility into which companies have a live reason to engage
  • Sales time is spent working lists in the wrong order
  • Good-fit accounts are missed because they weren't top of an alphabetical list
  • Marketing-sourced lists go stale before sales gets to the bottom of them

What we look for

The characteristics that matter here.

  • Confirmed fit against your defined ICP (sector, size, structure, geography)
  • Recent expansion, new site openings, or relocation
  • Leadership or ownership changes signalling a review of supplier arrangements
  • Recruitment activity indicating growth or operational change
  • Planning applications or property changes relevant to your offering
  • Technology, contract or asset lifecycle timing where visible
  • Public statements, filings or news indicating a relevant priority
  • Absence of a known competitor relationship where that is material

Relevant evidence

What we check, and where it comes from.

Verified evidence is supported by an identifiable source. Anything beyond that is recorded as inference — a hypothesis, clearly labelled as one.

Company and structure data

  • Companies House filings and structure
  • Employee headcount and growth trend
  • Site count and site locations
  • Sector and SIC classification

Change signals

  • New site openings or leases
  • Leadership appointments
  • Recruitment activity by role type
  • Planning applications
  • Asset finance and equipment registrations

Public statements

  • Press releases and news coverage
  • Annual report commitments
  • Website and careers page changes
  • Trade press mentions

How we approach it

The work we do on your behalf.

01

Define the ICP

We agree the fit criteria with you — sector, size, structure, geography and any disqualifiers — so the universe of companies is correct before evidence is applied.

02

Build the matching universe

We identify every company that fits the defined ICP from commercial data sources, not a sample.

03

Layer on evidence

Each matching company is checked against verified evidence sources for a reason to speak now, and against inference where a hypothesis is reasonable but not yet confirmed.

04

Apply the priority formula

FIT + EVIDENCE + TIMING = PRIORITY. Companies are ranked for sales attention, not scored as a prediction of purchase.

05

Deliver through the workspace

Prioritised companies, each with a short brief explaining why they matter and why now, are delivered through the Sales Intelligence Workspace.

Illustrative example

How this looks in practice.

The following is an illustrative, fictional example of the kind of brief sales would receive — it does not describe a real company or client.

A precision components manufacturer fitting a defined ICP band takes on a second facility and appoints a new Operations Director from a larger group. Within six weeks, four maintenance and production roles are advertised and an asset finance facility is registered against new plant.

None of these signals alone would justify a call. Together, they indicate a company reviewing its operational arrangements at a point when a supplier conversation is more likely to land — which is why it is prioritised ahead of ICP matches showing no comparable activity.

Examples shown are illustrative and use fictional companies and information to demonstrate how Growth Assist Sales Intelligence works.

Why this company matters
Multi-site manufacturer in the size band where this provider's win rate is strongest, currently running IT support in-house with a single technical hire.
What changed
  • Second facility taken on a long lease earlier in the year
  • New Operations Director appointed from a larger group
  • Four maintenance and production roles advertised in six weeks
  • Asset finance facility registered against new plant
Why now
Expansion plus a new operational leader usually creates a review of support arrangements within two quarters. The window is open now rather than at renewal.
Who to contact
Sarah Mitchell, Operations Director — owns site readiness and supplier arrangements during expansion (fictional stakeholder).
Recommended action
Begin a conversation with the Operations Director about supporting the second site before it goes live.
Confidence
High — four independent signals, each traceable to a primary source.

FAQ

Common questions.

How is this different from a standard prospecting list?

A standard list tells you who fits your criteria. Growth Assist tells you who fits your criteria and has a reason to talk now, ranked accordingly.

Do you replace our existing ICP definition?

No — we work from the ICP you define. Growth Assist adds evidence and prioritisation on top of it, it does not redefine your target market.

How often is the list refreshed?

Continuously. Companies are re-checked for new evidence on an ongoing basis so the priority order reflects current activity, not a one-off snapshot.

What happens to companies with no current evidence?

They remain in the ICP universe but are not prioritised for immediate outreach. As new evidence appears, their priority is reassessed.

Is this a database we search ourselves?

No. Growth Assist is a research service delivered through the Sales Intelligence Workspace — not another tool for your team to operate.

B2B sales intelligence is the researched, evidenced answer to who is genuinely worth calling this week, not a bigger list of who could theoretically buy.

  • What Are B2B Sales Triggers?

A sales trigger is an observable event that makes a company worth a second look — but on its own it is not proof that anyone is ready to buy.
