Sales intelligence for commercial solar providers. We do the research for you.

Commercial solar sales conversations depend on a small number of things being true at once: the business owns or controls its building, the building is a realistic fit for a solar installation, and there is a reason to have the conversation now rather than in twelve months. None of that can be assumed from a company's size or sector alone.

Growth Assist continuously identifies companies showing a genuine reason to speak — based on property ownership, building characteristics, expansion and planning activity, and relevant financial information — explains why now, and delivers prioritised opportunities to your sales team through the Sales Intelligence Workspace.

The sales challenge

Why pipeline is hard to build here.

It is tempting to assume that any business with a large roof and high energy costs is a good solar prospect, but that assumption is often wrong: many commercial premises are leased on terms that make solar investment impractical, and energy consumption is very rarely known with any accuracy from outside a business. We are explicit about this — unless energy usage is supported by an actual, identifiable source, we do not present it as known, and we will say so plainly rather than imply a level of insight we don't have.

What can genuinely be evidenced is different: property ownership, roof and site characteristics visible from planning or property records, expansion activity, new site acquisition, and financial information that indicates capacity to invest. These are harder to assemble than a simple list of large buildings, but they produce accounts that are actually worth a sales conversation.

Without this discipline, solar sales teams either chase a long list of plausible-looking buildings with a low conversion rate, or rely on inbound enquiries alone and miss well-fitted businesses that were never going to respond to a cold campaign.

Ideal customer

What a good customer looks like.

  • Businesses that own their commercial or industrial premises outright
  • Buildings with roof or site characteristics suited to a solar installation
  • Companies expanding into new or additional owned sites
  • Businesses with recent planning activity relevant to their premises
  • Organisations showing financial information consistent with capital investment capacity
  • Companies with other identifiable energy or property indicators where available
  • Businesses that have recently acquired property rather than leased it

The definition above is a starting point. Every engagement begins by agreeing what a good customer looks like for your business rather than assuming a generic profile.

Why now

The triggers that create a reason to speak.

Fitting the profile is not a reason to call. These are the changes that suggest the timing may be right — and which ones apply is decided with you, not applied generically.

  • Confirmed property ownership rather than a leasehold arrangement
  • Roof or site characteristics suited to solar, where evidenced
  • Business expansion into new owned premises
  • Planning activity relevant to the site or building
  • Property acquisition recorded against the business
  • Financial information indicating capacity for capital investment
  • Other energy or property indicators, where genuinely available from a source

Evidence & data

Where the evidence comes from.

Not every source is used for every client. We use what is available, relevant and traceable — and record anything unverified as inference rather than fact.

Property and site records

  • Confirmed ownership versus leasehold status
  • Roof and site characteristics from planning or property data
  • Site size and building type
  • Property acquisition records

Planning and expansion

  • Planning applications relevant to the premises
  • New site acquisition or construction
  • Expansion announcements

Financial and company information

  • Company filings indicating financial capacity
  • Relevant investment or capital expenditure disclosures

Internal CRM history

  • Historic enquiries or proposals
  • Past conversations logged but not progressed

How we find opportunities

The process behind each opportunity.

01

Define the fit

We agree with you what a good solar customer looks like in terms of ownership, building type and sector, rather than treating every large roof as equal.

02

Set the triggers

Property, planning and financial triggers are defined specifically with you, not assumed from generic energy-market signals.

03

Gather and verify evidence

We collect property, planning and financial evidence, and we are explicit when a factor such as energy usage is not known and cannot honestly be inferred.

04

Score for fit, evidence and timing

Accounts are only surfaced when ownership, building suitability and timing genuinely combine into a priority.

05

Deliver through the workspace

Prioritised opportunities, along with the specific evidence behind each one, are delivered through the Sales Intelligence Workspace.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do you tell us how much energy a business consumes?

Only when this is supported by an identifiable source. We do not assume or estimate energy consumption from company size, and we will always say clearly when this information simply isn't available.

How do you know a business owns its building?

We use property and planning records to establish ownership status wherever this can be verified, and we distinguish confirmed ownership from a leasehold arrangement rather than treating them the same.

What if roof suitability can't be confirmed?

Where roof or site characteristics cannot be verified from an available source, we present this as an unknown rather than assuming suitability, and we prioritise accounts where the evidence is stronger.

Do you only look at large industrial buildings?

No. Fit is defined with you based on the building types and sectors you actually win, which may include offices, warehouses or mixed commercial premises.

Can this replace our existing lead sources?

This is not another list to work alongside your existing pipeline. Growth Assist does the research and delivers prioritised, evidenced opportunities directly to your sales team.
